China is helping Pakistan in boosting its renewable energy development. Recently, Pakistan’s industry and commerce market entered into a new era of 500W+ by adopting a type of advanced photovoltaic (PV) modules made by a Chinese enterprise.

JinkoSolar, along with its local partner Hadron Solar, will provide 775 pieces of Tiger Pro modules with 500W+ to be installed on the rooftop of a pharmaceutical factory in Pakistan.

These modules will generate 633 MWh of electricity annually over the next 25 years to meet the factory’s requirement. In addition to this, it would take only three years to recover costs.

“With a competitive efficiency and power generation level of company’s modules, we wish to drive the development of local PV industry,” said JinkoSolar Chief Marketing Officer Gener Miao.

The competitiveness of the products is attributed to technological and innovational inputs. Pakistan has planned to boost the share of its electric power from renewable sources to 30% by year 2030 from about 4% at present.

“The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is paving the way for Pakistan to achieve the goal,” said University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila Chairman Energy Engineering Department Muzaffar Ali.

The company will cooperate with the Energy Training and Research Centre (ETRC) of Pakistan to train candidates in a bid to enable them to aid the development of renewable energy in Pakistan.

The firm will provide professional technology support for the training programme, which will not only accelerate the shift to green energy resources but will also create job opportunities in the solar power segment.

The enterprise distributes its solar products and sells its solutions and services to a diversified international utility and commercial and residential customer base all over the world.
